Towards A Self-Sustainable Scholarship Program Model, With Implications Not Only To Personal But Community Growth and Development in Calantas and Nabuclod
|
Any program established to become dependent on resources other than that what it
is capable of sustaining itself is not going to last to see its mission accomplished.
The CYDFI has been established to eventually sustain its own operation by seeking
to employ a methodology designed to support its own growth and development.
The concept is based upon the "spiral" feature of the "shell", in which a "a spiral
ripple effect" impression can be viewed from its different layers. It is this
understanding that SWREM as a term is coined to mean as "spiral with ripple
effect motion" and is adopted to be a key concept for the CYDFI Scholarship
Program Model. Thus, the birth of SWREM Theory!
As applied to program services, the concept becomes "SWREM Theory In Action",
paving the way to guide the direction and mission of CYDFI. It serves as an engine,
making the sholarship program run and grow into fullness of maturity with
implications not only to personal but community growth & development in
Calantas and Nabuclod Aeta Community in Floridablanca, Pampanga, Philippines.
In this model, a CYDFI scholar shall fulfill a commitment made at the onset of the
scholarship to sponsor at least one or two new incoming scholars when done with
schooling from high school to college in about 8-10 years and on the assumption
that he gets gainfully employed. This shall be done on a continuous spiral loop basis.
The Scholarship Program Model of the Foundation will start producing positive
results that would lead to opening more scholarship slots to new qualified applicants
thus paving the way for a self-sustaining scholarship program. The graphic
illustration in the Figure A indicates a holistic view on the concept of the SWREM
Theory In Action.

"When people share with magnanimity and care to share even of what little or meager resources they have because they care, a wonder is
taking place. It is like a miracle. For the miracle of life takes place in nature, unfolded seamlessly right in front of our very own naked eyes.
But often times, we don't seem to see it because we don't know how to recognize it. If only you knew how to open up your heart with the
beauty and glory that nature brings, you will see and experience its splendor and glory. And when that happens, consider yourself from
among the blessed for you will enjoy the beauty and splendor that nature brings. For when you see life through your heart, you feel its
warmth and tenderness. For nature serves, too, as humanity's best teacher. You just need to see things through and explore the hidden
treasure of knowledge and wisdom, discern their meanings and how they relate to you as a person; that all these things are created to
nourish your mind and body, and be worthy to give thanks to Him, the Creator of the Universe, for all times. This, indeed, is the Miracle of
Life in a secular world. The world is created for man (secularization), and not man, for the world (secularism). And, the height of creation
is for man to be the center of universe for he is created in the image and likeness of his Creator where one's dignity as a human being is
derived from. No wonder, God so loved the world...but man keeps shying away. But, he is given intellect to know the difference between
doing good for others or otherwise. It is innate in man's nature to learn to take care of each other, with respect and dignity, towards the
fullness of his life. Whether he makes a choice to be of "other-centered" or "not", he has the right to exercise his freedom".
