Browsing a dictionary (Mosby, 1998), a theory is defined as an abstract statement formulated to predict,
explain, or describe the relationships among concepts, constructs, or events. With that in mind, CYDFI
shall adopt and translate this theoretical statement into a Scholarship Project Model with a predictable
outcome of success that would situate the Foundation for self- sustainability as it reaches the level of
maturity of its operation in implementing the Scholarship Project Model. As scholars become mature and
learn to be more socially responsible, the impact of the Scholarship Project Model will be felt beyond
the 8-10 year range of operation.

Self-sustainability in the operation of the Foundation  may depend on the success of the Scholarship
Project Model. It may be appropriately understood with an analogy derived from the conceptualization of
the "coined" nonsensical term, called: SWREM, which stands for "Spiral With Ripple Effect Motion".
The term, itself, appears nonsensical and without much significance other than when given a connotation,
it would set different tones, rich and full of progressive meaning.

Interestingly, unless you miss the point, SWREM as a coined term is influenced by the Founder's
observation on the lowly "seafood delicacy which is known as snail". Looking very closely on the shape
of the "snail and its shell", you shall notice its outer layers ranging from small to big spiral shape with an
impression of slow but determined and dynamic growth. If this were applied to community work, it could
connote growth and development.

The dynamism of growth eventually leads to development caused by the "ripple effect" characteristics
of the shell. SWREM is seen as a key concept generating the meaning and purpose of the Foundation
(CYDFI), not only that SWREM is a key concept but also the very engine to make the CYDFI Scholarship
Project run smoothly and effectively to impact not only personal but community growth and development.
SWREM, as a theory,  has the capacity to keep its own motion towards a certain direction, a direction
that can be self-sustaining towards reaching its goal of providing a consistent motion and direction to the
CYDFI Scholarship Project Model. SWREM, as an engine of project model, is designed to "help youth
help himself and in turn, this same youth will help other youth.and so on, on a continuous loop process.
The continuous loop process of scholars "
helping one another" will definitely have some positive
impact on individuals and on community growth and development in Calantas and Nabuclod, when
operational. This is a predictable
ripple effect of the SWREM Theory In Action.
