It is now firmly imbedded that Calantas Young Dreamers Foundation, Inc.
(CYDFI Philippines) has its main mission
Recognizing the fact that most of Calantas folks now living in the barrio
may find it hard to help due to lack of resources or poverty, the Founders
see the potential of tapping the help of most folks from Calantas now living
in the San Francisco Bay Area and across the country, by being organized
to collectively respond on the challenge of supporting the mission of the
Foundation. Thus, the birth of CYDFI Philippines in the USA called as
proposed:CYDF USA, Inc. It has three objectives to find meaning in its
existence and guide its direction and operation:
(CYDFI Philippines) has its main mission
- to empower indigent but deserving talented youths living in abject
poverty found in Philippine rural areas like Bo. Calantas and and
Nabuclod Aeta Community thru a Scholarship Project Model of
Community Youth Leadership and Empowerment Program, with a
methodology called "SWREM Theory In Action" that is designed to
help them help themselves so they can help incoming scholars leading
to breaking their cycle of poverty, as they learn to become socially
responsible with implications, not only to personal but community
growth and development; and, to promote replication advocacy of
said Model in other communities beginning with Benedicto, another
barrio in Floridablanca.

- To support the mission of CYDFI Philippines in the Philippines.
- To design Community Youth Leadership and Empowerment Program
(CYLEP) that promotes positive self-image, enhancement of self-
esteem, development of life and leadership skills of the Filipino-
American "high-risk" youths and their families in the SF Bay Area, - To establish a non-profit medical model healthcare facility, imbedded
with ethic-specific psycho-socio-emotional, religious and culturally-
sensitive services for the Filipino-American aging population in the
San Francisco Bay Area and promote replication advocacy of said
model in other parts of the country.
CYDF USA, Inc. is originally conceived as CYDF Philippines in the USA
that carries the mission of helping indigent but deserving talented youths in
the Philippines. In addition, however, the latter intends to do the following
two long-term objectives:
Now that the distinction between CYDFI Philippines and CYDF USA, Inc.
has been articulated, we can focus more our attention into understanding on
how the latter is being shaped into a legal entity so as to be able to function
to support the main mission of CYDFI Philippines. CYDF USA, Inc. is to
be registered as a foreign nonprofit corporation in the State of California
and has to apply for an IRS 1023 Tax-Exempt Status under the 501.c3 IRS
Code, so that all donations in the USA can be tax-deductible.
However, as time progresses and more distinctions are clarified, it was
best opted for legal distinction purposes, that CYDF USA, Inc. will be
registered officially, as a separate entity, apart from CYDFI Philippines,
hut the latter will support the Mission of the latter through Grants to its
Scholarship Project Model under the Community Youth Leadership and
Empowerment Program of CYDFI Philippines.
