As a concept and theory, the Foundation views the "shell" as a model of
natural process of growth and development that when adopted into program
design could trigger a predictable outcome of success on a longitudinal
perspective. As growth takes place and filtered in time and space, eventually,
development builds up in time.
The different layers of the shell are also viewed by the Foundation as
"principles" that will be used to guide the personal growth and development
of the "scholars" (who are indigent but deserving talented youth from
Calantas and Nabuclod Aeta Community).As a theory, SWREM is the main
engine of the CYDFI Scholarship Program geared towards self-sustainable
modality upon reaching its fullness of maturity. As a program, it could bring
the Foundation to a level of stability and to be able to build up resources
capable of meeting responsibility in supporting its scholars until they reach
the finish line of their scholarship program.
However, as a program model, it needs support in its infancy of operation while
trying to trail an outward direction, indicating that it has the capacity to sustain
its own growth and development and can become a self-sustaining program.
Meaning, once a CYDFI Scholarship Program Recipient has graduated from
high school to college and becomes gainfully employed (or, self-employed) ,
the youth's commitment to sponsor, at least one or two new scholars, will pave
the way for creating more spaces of new scholars. This is the "ripple effect" of
the CYDFI Scholarship Program. The program is effectively creating a "cream
of leadership" from among the youth who, already, are recognized in their own
right as having the "potential to become leaders" in their communities!

| The object "shell" is used as a symbol of the Foundation, Inc. because it captures the image of what Calantas Young Dreamers Foundation, Inc. is designed to be. The apparent "spiral feature" of the shell, having several layers outwardly directed from smallest to biggest, provides an indication of a slow but determined process of its own growth and fully developed in time and space. These "spiral layers" of the shell are given new connotative meaning as "SWREM", a coined acronym for "Spiral With Ripple Effect Motion". SWREM, as a term when adopted to be a guiding principle of the Scholarship Program of the Foundation, can generate a predictable outcome in 8-10 years of its initial operation.
