Understanding the Implications of SWREM Theory
In Action to Scholar's Personal Growth/Development
Although SWREM Theory is an untested concept, it is believed that by design
and intent the concept will definitely work for it follows a fundamental principle of
allowing an individual person "to help him help himself". When a person is given
an opportunity and provided with right amount of resources, he is like a plant
given the  right amount of nourishment and support until it is strong enough to
support itself and bloom to be able to share its fruits to others. When an individual
is timely given some financial resources to help him finish high school and college,
he will feel empowered for despite the lack of resources his family is deprived of, he
will experience the sense of care of a group like CYDFI in providing him not only
encouragement but material support as well to  pursue his dream of getting access
to education for which his life and future could be positively affected. When he
experiences the kind of help that otherwise is remote in his mind from happening,
he would begin to realize and recognize that after all  there are still people with
good intent  to help individuals like him to make it through and improve himself and
aspire for a brighter future in life. Every individual has the innate capacity to become what he wants "to be" and  "to
become" in life. Each person is destined to create his own destiny. How you decide to direct your destiny is your choice.
And that choice can be enhanced with support and empowerment from individuals and organizations like CYDFI. And
sometimes, the only reason why you can't achieve what you hope for in life is when the person loses sight and perspective
on the "power to create your own destiny" which is innate in every one of us and the decision to direct your destiny
is your
choice. And that choice can be enhanced with support and empowerment from individuals and organizations like CYDFI. And
sometimes, the only reason why you can't achieve what you hope for in life is when the person loses sight and perspective of the
"power to create your own destiny" which is innate in every one of us and that you are capable of doing. Also, timing is of essence
that if and when this person loses the courage to see things through, appropriate support might be needed to sustain the drooping
spirit of this type of person. Thus, CYDFI, apparently making an attempt to provide a timely support to this indigent but deserving
talented individual whose spirit is drooping slowly, might be the right dosage and resource to keep the spirit of this person from
drooping all the way down, but he would instead feel tickled and inspired and slowly raise hi drooping spirit to see a shining
rainbow over the horizon and whisper a prayer "Thank you, Lord, for showering me with Your Gace when I needed it most". The
self-esteem of the person will be then enhanced and empowered. He, then, feels good about himself and could start moving slowly
to prusue his destiny and dream in life. CYDFI becomes, then, a source of inspiration of the scholar's educational pursuit that in no
doubt, he will do his best to excell academically, comply as much as possible with the directives of the Foundation for these are
designed to ascertain that his educational endeavor will always fall into the direction for which it is designed to be, that is:
"
to help the individual scholarship recipient succeed and when gainfully employed, he will, in turn in time, to share this life
experience to incoming new CYDFI scholars by becoming a sponsor to one or two new scholars"
. The person's personal growth
and development is then the end product of the process already identified as "SWREM" concept. Personal growth and
development may be enhanced in many ways. What CYDFI is offering is to tackle one angle of a person's growth and development,
that is:
"academic development". This academic development has a "ripple effect" in the sense that if and when a person has done
academic achievement, his other faculties will eventually be positively affected such as an enhancement of his personality and
self-esteem, by learning to be more responsible to himself, others, family and community. And because of the support he has gained
from the CYDFI, he will learn to become more socially responsible especially when he starts doing his commitment of sponsoring
one or two new incoming scholars. This process when done on a "
continuous spiral loop basis" will have a ripple effect that in no
time, the CYDFI Model of Scholarship Program wll have to come to a point of becoming to sustain its own scholarship program and
will continue to grow and expand that could be beneficial to the top five (5) 6th grade graduating students from the Calantas Elem.
School and to three (3) from Nabuclod School in the Nabuclod Aeta Community. CYDFISP recipients shall, then, learn to be more
socially responsible by developing an "
other-centered" attitude in deed and in spirit  This is personal growth and development of
the SWREM Theory In Action as envisioned among the youth of Calantas and Nabuclod.
